HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN a PHOTOGRAPHER?

I’ve had a camera in-hand since 1995. I was about 10 years old when I fell in love with photography. (Don’t do that math!) Professionally since 2010. (If you’re interested in how photography captivated me as a 10 year old, read my ABOUT page!)

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I shoot on full frame Canon cameras, and use a variety of Canon and Sigma prime lenses. (I have too many, in my husband’s opinion.) I also carry back-up of everything on a wedding day. (Any guesses how much the bag weighs? phew!)

What’s your favorite part of the entire wedding day?

Oh, I’m so glad you asked! ABSOLUTE favorite, when you and your love see one another for the first time. Either an intimate “First Look” or at the ceremony. Close second, every other part of the day! ha! JK. I adore the First Look with Dad, exit from the ceremony after you said ‘i do’, or when you’re cutting loose and dancing the night away, and I LOVE a dreamy sunset or fun sparkler exit! Any part of the day filled with love, I’m here for it.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

YES! I love to travel! I am based in Knoxville, TN and serve couples from coast to coast! I also have my passport ready and have great pricing for destination weddings!

how many photos can we expect to get?

My contract states average of 80-100 per hour of coverage… buuuuuut, I tend to just capture absolutely everything, and over-deliver. So it may be closer to 120-160 per hour, depending on your details, number of guests, number of photographers, and how much time we have for portraits of you & your love! (Those are my fave!)

what is the average turnaround time?

For elopements and weddings, 6-10 weeks depending on workload. My typical “guideline” is about 1 week per hour of photography on your wedding day. So if you have an intimate elopement with 4 hours of coverage, you’ll see your finished gallery sooner than if you book a 10 hour day with two photographers. More time = more photos = more time needed to make them absolutely perfect for you!

wiLL ALL OF OUR PHOTOS BE EDITED?

Yes! I apply my own custom preset, then go in and perfect every image you receive! I also straighten and remove any blemishes, distracting elements, etc. I believe every image is a reflection on my team & I, so I edit each and every image.

what does your fee include?

Quite simply, everything we’ve listed on your contract. No hidden fees, no travel fee for within 2 hours of Knoxville, taxes included. Some packages even include a print credit to use toward albums & prints, even though you get the high-res files with printing rights! If your package is over $2000 it does include the custom engraved USB drive with heirloom linen box.

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

Yes! I’m a professional photographer & business owner, so I have a business license, pay taxes and insure my equipment!

HOW SOON SHOULD I BOOK YOU?

As soon as you book your venue. My calendar usually fills up 8-12 months ahead, but you always have the option to book an available associate photographer for the discount!

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

Within just a few days of your wedding, you’ll get access to your personal gallery with a handful of images to enjoy while the rest are being edited! Usually I like to include between 30-40 images, although it’s not uncommon to get way more! When your entire day is completed, you’ll get another email with the full gallery to share with family & friends. Shortly after, if your package includes it, you’ll receive a beautiful, custom engraved USB and heirloom linen box with your high-resolution files.

we’re not photogenic, can you help us?

Almost every client thinks they’re ‘awkward’ or ‘unphotogenic’! Let me tell you right now, you’re probably not! I pride myself on making people comfortable fairly quickly, forget the camera is even there and just have fun and love on each other. You’re not awkward together, let’s focus on that chemistry! If you feel like you might have nervous habits, blink a lot, or just concerned about getting into a ‘groove’ on the wedding day, let’s plan an engagement session to sort of practice! We’ll get to know one another and I can see how you like to be posed, you can learn what you love about your photos (or what you don’t) and it’ll help us get into a natural groove of portraits on your wedding day. If you’re not able to do an engagement session, or live out of state (did you see the question about travel?)… consider doing a first look on your wedding day, to have a little more time together, capture more, and set a more laid-back vibe to your day!

Can you help me plan other aspects of my wedding?

I thought you’d never ask! My couples always tell me I’m like their built-in wedding planner! When we sit down together and create a timeline, I’ll answer any questions about wedding etiquette, what other couples have loved, and when to tell other vendors to be ready to roll. (I also give you access to my Preferred Vendor List, that has been 12 years in the making, and pretty much will ensure your wedding day will be awesome! (It will be anyway! but these vendors are my absolute favorite, and you won’t risk makeup wearing off by ceremony time, flowers turning brown, finding out your DJ loves the sound of his own voice the most, or the cake never showing up!)
