Holly & Hunter were so much fun to photograph - I can't even. They literally laughed and kissed and snuggled through their entire session! It was SO cold, they just snuggled up and did amazing at all my silly requests...
Without fail, every time I do an engagement session, I say they're my favorite! (I really think they are, even though I feel the same way about newborns and weddings!)
I had so much fun the other evening with these two! I love getting to find new "spots" to photograph downtown, and we almost ran out of daylight for our second location at Ijam's Quarry (formerly Mead's Quarry). But they stuck it out with me, and trusted that I could "fake" some sunlight where there wasn't much left! :)
OH how I love this sweet couple! They laughed, kissed and just held each other the entire time! That's my kind of session!
Jessica and Adam, I cannot wait to shoot your wedding at Big Ridge State Park in June! I know it's going to be just as fun and full of love!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE! and Emily and Adam are so obviously head over heels in love with one another! It makes my job to capture this stage in their journey together so easy! Not to mention they are both professional models, so just a tiny bit of coaching for how I like to do things, but they're naturals!
(You know I'm excited when I use a "!" at the end of every sentence!) ;)
Aren't they just the sweetest?
I absolutely love doing engagement sessions! Every time I do one, I say it's my favorite - then when I do a wedding or newborn session, THAT'S my favorite... so I think it's safe to say I just love what I do! ...And I love meeting sweet couples like Allison & Jordan!
We started out at Melton Park, for some beautiful sun-drenched photos (and working around all the swimmers and sunbathers at the lake that evening!) then almost got lost taking the back road to Covered Bridge... But it was so worth it! I love what we were able to capture!
The Engagement session is a great chance to take your time and get some more relaxed photos of the two of you enjoying just being together and being engaged. It's also a great chance for us to get to know each other, for me to see how you interact, how you are in front of the camera, if you have any nervous habits, and give you a little coaching for the best photos on your wedding day.
If I've never said it, (at least a hundred times) I love Engagement sessions! I love spring, and I love downtown Knoxville. So this session was a dream for me!
We started out at The Knoxville Botanical Gardens, where their wedding will be this summer. Jessie at The Historic Bleak House was awesome enough to let me know that the purple Wisteria was blooming, and we could come there for a bit to incorporate some of their wedding color into the session! Then we headed Downtown to some new spots for me, which I couldn't be more excited about!
This couple though! Throughout our time together, they laughed and talked and kissed the entire session. My cheeks literally hurt from smiling with them all morning! I love what we captured, and I cannot wait for your wedding this July!
Need a reason to do an Engagement Session? THIS. We had an amazing evening together, just talking about wedding plans, walking around downtown Knoxville and getting to know each other... In the cold! brrr! It's been in the 70's for 2 weeks, and the day of their session, it drops down to the 40's! But we still had a great time, and this sweet couple is getting married in just 4 short months!
The Engagement Session is a great chance to take your time and get some casual photos of the two of you enjoying just being together and being engaged! (It's also a great chance for your photographer to see how you interact, how you are in front of the camera, and give you a little coaching for the best photos on your wedding day!)
Allison & Scott, I cannot wait to photograph your wedding at Candoro Marble in July! If it's half as perfect as you two are together, it will be an amazing day! Not to mention, it's a gorgeous & unique Wedding Venue! I cannot wait!
For Lee & Lily's session, we started out at the Botanical Gardens for some fall photos, then made our way downtown to chase the sunset around the Old City and find some neat spots! At one point as we were walking, I kept thinking about this one set of brick stairs in front of a restaurant in the Old City - and come to find out that's where Lily & Lee met! I'm excited that we got to incorporate that location into some of the photos! :)
Since I met Lily & Lee, I've been SO excited to work with them! At our first consultation to talk about their Wedding, Lee kept leaning over and giving Lily kisses on the cheek... and they had a way of talking to each other that is just obvious they've got such a loving relationship... so I knew that this session was going to be awesome! (And Lee did the same thing all evening as we walked around, leaning over and giving Lily sweet kisses!) I absolutely cannot wait for your wedding next September at Dara's Garden!
This fall it seems as though the leaves changing colors has been a little delayed - but we were able to find some spots that really show how beautiful East Tennessee is! For Ben & Brittany's engagement photos we headed up to to the Norris State Park area around the dam for some fun engagement photos!
Ben & Brittany met years ago at work and have been together ever since! It was so sweet just to see how perfect they are together.
I know I've said it a thousand times... and I truly believe it... Every couple is different, therefore every love story is different! Call me a romantic, but proposal stories just bring tears to my eyes!
(and if you know me... so does every engagement session, and every wedding! and most movies, a few commercials, and about a thousand other things!)
So I wanted to do something special - to kick off this amazing year ahead of us! If you're recently engaged, within the last 6 months (or since August 1, 2014) and have not had any engagement photos done yet... I want to give you the chance to win the Engagement shoot of your choice!
I have about twenty different styled photo shoot styles bouncing around my brain, and you'll get to select the look and mood YOU want! I don't ever want my photography to be "one size fits all" because there is no "one size fits all" love story. I want to tell YOUR love story in photos.
Comment below and tell me about yourself! Include both your names, how you met, how long you've been together, how you knew he was "the one," how he proposed, and your reaction, of course! Were you surprised? Did you guess what he was doing? Did you cry? Did he cry? :)
I really want there to be a random winner, but a contest seems like a marketing ploy to get you to send your friends to vote... which isn't my intention. and honestly, a contest makes it a lot of work on your part, so let's not do that. I like to keep things simple.
So this will be done Old-School... with drawing a name from a bowl. Or maybe the story that requires the most tissues... :) HaHa!
So, tell me your love story!
Please remember to include both your names, as well as your contact information!
After I narrow down to 10-15 couples, I'll draw one lucky couple as the winner! (If I have a great response to this, I may possibly think about doing more than one!
The next step is then to plan your styled photo shoot for the spring! I've got some gorgeous ideas, and some vendors already on-board for pulling together the perfect styled shoot!
The only requirements are that you are engaged within 6 months (since August 1st) and have not had your engagements or wedding yet, and have not booked your wedding with me already.
